It’s Groundhog Day in Newark…again

Posted on December 15, 2021 by hasan4978

Even more so than my Wargames clip, the more fitting symbol of what the Devils franchise has become is the Bill Murray movie Groundhog Day, where his character re-lives the same day over and over and over again. Only instead … Continue reading →

Devils’ lost home week only increases the angst of fans

Posted on December 11, 2021 by hasan4978

I can’t even figure out where to begin with this blog. There’s so much I want to say about this franchise, and yet I have so little interest in saying it at this point. It’s sort of a dual personality … Continue reading →

Posted on November 29, 2021 by hasan4978

It’s only been a few days since my last blog but there’s been a bit of Devils news since then. First and foremost, after coach Lindy Ruff called Jack Hughes’ imminent return from a shoulder injury close last week, he … Continue reading →

Devils thwarted by goalposts and a hideous PP in a pre-turkey shootout defeat

Posted on November 25, 2021 by hasan4978

Last night was a rare game where I had the choice to either go or not go without worrying about eating money on tickets, since I’d already sold my regular section for last night’s game but still had a free … Continue reading →

Devils’ turnaround in Tampa earns a vital two points

Posted on November 20, 2021 by hasan4978

Momentum is a funny thing sometimes – you just never know when it can shift in a period, a game or even a season for players and teams alike. We saw several examples of this in Tampa this afternoon for … Continue reading →

Rangers win a wild shootout over the Devils in a very entertaining game, Another iffy Subban play injures Blais, Kakko finally gets going

Posted on November 15, 2021 by Derek

This one had a little bit of everything. There were goals, end to end rushes, saves, hits and some animosity which you come to expect between two close rivals. In the end, the Rangers took the first of four meetings … Continue reading →

Posted on November 14, 2021 by Derek

Tonight, the Rangers play host to the Devils in the first game of the season between Hudson rivals. Indeed, the Battle Of Hudson is renewed for another year where at least it’ll feel more normal. Even if it’s not quite … Continue reading →

Devils’ winning streak grinds to a halt in another matinee dud

Posted on November 13, 2021 by hasan4978

For all the things that may be changing so far with the Devils, apparently one thing destined never to change is the Devils’ dreadful record in weekend home matinees. It seems as if it’s the same script over and over … Continue reading →

Devils de-claw Panthers at the Rock

Posted on November 10, 2021 by hasan4978

Coming back from a moderately successful West Coast trip, the omens weren’t great for the Devils before tonight’s game. Personally, I almost forgot I was going to the game tonight – which I didn’t exactly take as a good sign … Continue reading →

Devils somehow split a sloppy West Coast trip

Posted on November 7, 2021 by hasan4978

A few games ago I said at one point the early part of this Devils season was a study in glass half-full and half-empty thinking. They lived that to a tee on the West Coast, following an ugly loss in … Continue reading →
