Posted on February 12, 2024 by hasan4978

I figured the least I could do after playing hooky from going to the Devils game tonight was write about what’s apparently going to be no worse than their second best home game of the year (and about what’s been … Continue reading →

Devils honor Sarge on an otherwise dishonorable night

Posted on January 21, 2024 by hasan4978

For a change, I’m going to start with the good stuff before I get to the bad – of which there was plenty of last night – and that is the induction of Devils icon Sergei Brylin into the still … Continue reading →

Posted on January 6, 2024 by hasan4978

I had to look back and see when my last blog on the Devils was, turns out it was when we hit another valley losing the first three games of our pre and post-holiday homestand. Since then, the Devils have won … Continue reading →

Devils’ roller coaster season hits another valley after going 0-3 to begin homestand

Posted on December 22, 2023 by hasan4978

Was it really still less than a week ago where the Devils beat Boston in an impressive 2-1 OT thriller, following that up with a fun 6-3 win at Columbus during fathers and mentors weekend? That was at least the second … Continue reading →

Devils crash with a thud after a no-show game four puts them on the brink of elimination

Posted on May 10, 2023 by hasan4978

It’s hard to know where to even begin with the absolute disgrace that was tonight’s Game 4, a 6-1 defeat that left the Devils not only down 3-1 in the series, but completely humiliated on their own home ice…again. It’s … Continue reading →

Devils’ jekyll and hyde nature leaves them stuck in limbo

Posted on January 6, 2023 by hasan4978

If there was a more perfect prism to view the last month of Devils hockey, these last two games provided it. Considering the Devils are 14-2-1 on the road and 10-10-2 at home with eight straight losses at the Rock, … Continue reading →

Devils’ second Canada sweep runs winning streak to a dozen

Posted on November 20, 2022 by hasan4978

How many superlatives and different stats would it take to do justice on what the Devils have done over their twelve-game winning streak and 15-1 stretch overall? Probably not enough, though it is hard to believe we still aren’t even … Continue reading →

Devils’ UFA day starts with promise and ends with frustration – or maybe not?

Posted on July 13, 2022 by hasan4978

Predictably after a UFA day for the Devils that saw their biggest acquisitions be a third-line center (Erik Haula) and a seventh defenseman (Brendan Smith), there was no end-of-the day presser from GM Tom Fitzgerald about what can only be … Continue reading →

Devils add goaltending with Vanecek, conclude draft weekend with seven more picks on Friday

Posted on July 10, 2022 by hasan4978

With free agency beginning in just a few days there was still a question mark as to how the Devils were going to deal with their goaltending situation, especially given the ominous non-update of Jonathan Bernier after hip surgery ended … Continue reading →

Posted on April 24, 2022 by hasan4978

Yes I know there are still three games left in the 2021-22 season, but for all intents and purposes our season was over three months ago. Two of these games left are also against non-playoff teams and the other one … Continue reading →
