Devils, all of hockey still in a COVID cloud on New Year’s Eve

Posted on December 31, 2021 by hasan4978

Not exactly the news I wanted to see getting home from a half-day of work before watching the Devils take on the Oilers in their second post-break game. It’s one thing when players get put on the COVID list, but … Continue reading →

Devils, NHL postpone games until after Christmas break

Posted on December 21, 2021 by hasan4978

In something that seemed inevitable for days, the NHL yesterday finally acknowledged the reality that a pause was needed for an NHL season already unbalanced by multiple team shutdowns and canceled blocks of games. Nobody thought we’d get to this … Continue reading →

Devils and NHL limp towards holiday and possible league-wide pause

Posted on December 18, 2021 by hasan4978

Right now it’s hard not to be apathetic about the state of the Devils as a team on the ice, and sports/society as a whole off it with the Omicron COVID variant wreaking havoc on three major sports at the … Continue reading →

A Devilish Jack Hughes Issue

Posted on December 17, 2021 by Derek

It hasn’t been a good December for the Devils. On Thursday night, they lost their fourth in a row by a score of 5-3 at The Prudential Center in Newark. Thus far, they’re 1-6-1 for the month. That won’t get … Continue reading →

It’s Groundhog Day in Newark…again

Posted on December 15, 2021 by hasan4978

Even more so than my Wargames clip, the more fitting symbol of what the Devils franchise has become is the Bill Murray movie Groundhog Day, where his character re-lives the same day over and over and over again. Only instead … Continue reading →

Devils’ lost home week only increases the angst of fans

Posted on December 11, 2021 by hasan4978

I can’t even figure out where to begin with this blog. There’s so much I want to say about this franchise, and yet I have so little interest in saying it at this point. It’s sort of a dual personality … Continue reading →

Devils’ road meltdown indicative of larger problems

Posted on December 3, 2021 by hasan4978

It’s basically become a yearly ritual for me to post this classic scene from Wargames whenever crap completely hits the fan for the Devils, symbolically going to DEFCON 1 is my version of pressing the panic button. And make no … Continue reading →

Devils’ Tuesday was more productive off-ice than on it

Posted on December 1, 2021 by hasan4978

For one day and one day only it feels irrelevant that the Devils put up another stinker at home, this time losing 5-2 to the Sharks in a game where they were down four after two periods and despite a … Continue reading →

Devils feast on the Flyers to close holiday weekend

Posted on November 29, 2021 by hasan4978

It’s only been a few days since my last blog but there’s been a bit of Devils news since then. First and foremost, after coach Lindy Ruff called Jack Hughes’ imminent return from a shoulder injury close last week, he … Continue reading →

Devils thwarted by goalposts and a hideous PP in a pre-turkey shootout defeat

Posted on November 25, 2021 by hasan4978

Last night was a rare game where I had the choice to either go or not go without worrying about eating money on tickets, since I’d already sold my regular section for last night’s game but still had a free … Continue reading →
