Video Of Day: Johnny Gaudreau nets hat trick in USA quarter win

In Team USA’s 7-0 quarterfinal victory over Czech Republic, Boston College forward Johnny Gaudreau scored a hat trick.

All three came on the power play where the Americans converted five of their seven markers. Gaudreau’s first two came off rebounds on the doorstep. The third was part of a nice play up ice. Started by ’13 Draft eligible Seth Jones, the defenseman dished to Ranger prospect J.T. Miller, who then found Gaudreau all alone. He roofed it upstairs turning the trick. During Group play, he was scoreless in the first three games. In a must win over Slovakia, he tallied twice. Then scored three of his team’s touchdown and PAT, advancing Team USA to a semifinal against Canada tomorrow (4 AM). That’s five in two games for Gaudreau.
